Last Days of Lockdown 2021: Capturing the Impact on American Cities

Thank you for visiting my site dedicated to documenting the state of cities and towns during the last days of the lockdown in 2021. Embarking on a journey to 70 different locations from May 15 through June 15, I had the opportunity to capture the conditions of both cities and small towns through my photographic imagery.

A Multifaceted Perspective

This collection serves as an economic development space inventory, a public art assessment, an exploration of outdoor dining adaptations, and an examination of the influence of cultural protests. The images presented here remain unaltered, true depictions of the scenes I encountered, capturing the raw essence of each location. With this dedication to authenticity, I've crafted a dedicated website, "Last Days of Lockdown 2021," to showcase these impactful visuals and their stories.

Last Days of Lockdown 2021 Reveals Places Across America

It's important to note that this presentation is not a photographic essay centered on individuals. Instead, it encapsulates the essence of places and spaces across America that were directly impacted by the lockdown measures from covid-19. I aim to provide a technically oriented exploration of the themes that emerged from various cities' experiences.

Dedication to Preserving American Heritage

I've categorized this website as an "American Heritage Website," highlighting the preservation of collective memory and historical significance. My intention is not to convey any specific political stance but rather to encapsulate the stories of American cities in the face of the virus-induced lockdown. These images serve as a poignant reminder of the desolate and eerie atmosphere that prevailed during those times.

Blending Visuals and Analysis

After thorough consideration and deliberation, I've decided to arrange the images in the chronological order of their capture, complemented by a musical backdrop. With over 70 videos categorized by state, Last Days of Lockdown 2021 offers a comprehensive journey through these unique settings

Last Days of LockDown 2021's Reflection on American Heritage

In addition to the visual documentation, I've created 12 videos where I personally reflect on my observations during my city visits, providing analysis and insight into what I witnessed. My ultimate goal is to create a lasting testament to the times we've lived through, preserving the essence of American heritage and the circumstances that shaped it.

I am calling the website an American Heritage Website. I offer no political view but am more technically oriented to themes in cities across America and how they have been impacted by the virus lockdown. The pictures I took will remember those times as they were…desolate and eerie.

After careful consultation and negotiation, I decided to run the pictures in the order I took them with a music background (70 videos listed by State). Some of the images are provocative, and I did not want to draw them out but instead blend them in so they would be offered in context.

I also thought I should say something, so I created 12 videos of me talking about what I saw in the cities and did some analysis. I am looking to make this site for posterity. I reflect on American Heritage and American circumstances.
